Big news in the parrot world – fashion extraordinare has teamed up with the World Parrot Trust to save parrots!
“The parrot is such a strong idea, we wanted to share it with our fans in a new and intensive way”, says Eyan Allen, Creative Director of BOSS Orange. HUGO BOSS and its BOSS Orange line are donating $68,000 USD of the proceeds from the sale of its exciting new BOSS Orange parrot T-shirt to World Parrot Trust. These funds will be used to aid in the survival of the Scarlet Macaws in Costa Rica and Honduras, as well as the Blue-throated macaws (also known as Caninde macaws), in Bolivia.
The winning design from the top 30 was chosen by the BOSS Orange Jury on May 7th, 2010. The chosen winner was Esteban Lalama from Ecuador. Together, he, Allen, and the design team finalized the shirt design. Esteban top prize? His own design appearing on T-shirts from Berlin to Bangkok.
“The parrot has inspired us, made us laugh, and helped in the creation of some wonderful designs in 2010. Now we want to give something back,” says the HUGO BOSS website. So BOSS Orange is supporting the World Parrot Trust by donating proceeds from the sales of the shirt. The T-shirt featuring the winning design has been available in selected stores as of January 1st, 2011.
